The Sädesairaala Hospital belongs to the Central Finland Health Care District and it is located beside the Central Hospital. When arriving from the city centre, the exit from Keskussairaalantie is before the Central Hospital's exit. The Sädesairaala Hospital and the Central Hospital are connected with a guided pedestrian bridge and gallery.

The Sädesairaala Hospital houses the Oncological Policlinic and day hospital, radiotherapy facilities, Cancer Ward 31 and the Internal Medicine 32. The Internal Medicine Day Hospital 30 is located in the ground floor of the Sädesairaala Hospital, where patients with internal, rheumatological and haematological diseases are treated. In addition, the Sädesairaala Hospital has facilities for clinical physiology, X-ray, physiatry, occupational therapy and hobby activities. Maternity Ward 6 is temporarily located in the Sädesairaala Hospital. The hospital has also a cafe.
